The movie received critical acclaim and has since become a cult classic.

"La Planète Sauvage" or "Fantastic Planet" is a 1973 French-Czechoslovakian animated science fiction film written and directed by René Laloux, based on the novel "Oms en série" by Stefan Wul. The film was a collaboration between French and Czechoslovakian animators.

The story takes place on a distant planet where a highly advanced alien species, the Oms, are kept as domesticated animals by another species, the Traahs. The Oms are captured, used for various tasks, and sometimes killed or forced to live in cages. A group of Oms manages to escape and resist their oppressors.
